Mastodon is My Blog

Mastodon is My Blog (MIMB) is a local-first Mastodon reader and writer that replaces the usual endless mixed feed with a calmer, blog-like experience.

Instead of throwing every post into one river, MIMB helps you read by person, topic, and intent:

  • People for blog-style reading by account
  • Content for links, images, software finds, news, and grouped hashtag topics
  • Forum for discussion-heavy threads
  • Write for publishing without opening your instance's default interface
  • Admin for syncing, account setup, catch-up jobs, and content bundles

What to expect

MIMB is opinionated:

  • It is built for finite reading, not doomscrolling.
  • It expects you to refresh on purpose instead of consuming a live firehose.
  • It keeps a local cache so views can be organized and filtered in ways Mastodon itself does not always offer.
  • It can support more than one Mastodon identity under one local setup.

Important limits

  • MIMB is still evolving. Some areas are more polished than others.
  • The web app is meant to run locally on your own machine.
